How to split audio

  1. Choose or drop an audio or video file.
  2. Pick the number of parts or the length of each, and an overlap. Drag any split point to adjust it.
  3. Play a part to check it, then download one, all as a ZIP, or transcribe them all.

Questions

Why add an overlap?

So a sentence that falls on a split point is complete in at least one part. With a 5-second overlap, each part runs 5 seconds into the next one.

What does "split at natural pauses" do?

Each split point moves to the quietest moment within 8 seconds of it, so parts end between sentences instead of in the middle of a word. You can still drag any split point yourself.

How many parts can I make?

Up to 20, each at least 10 seconds long. Download them one by one or all together as a ZIP file.

Can I get all the parts transcribed?

Yes. Press "Transcribe all parts" and they are uploaded together; you pay once for the total minutes. The first 5 minutes are free.

Is my file uploaded?

No. Splitting happens in your browser. Nothing leaves your device unless you choose to transcribe the parts.
